JOB SUMMARY

The System Administrator role is to optimize multi-vendor platforms, and related components to achieve high availability and performance of the various business applications for CFG.  This includes planning, installing, configuring, administering, securing, and tuning operating systems and components across the organization in a timely and efficient manner. Follows guidelines to monitors systems performance and ensures applications stability through the effective use of personal computers, servers, and technical services. Responsible for all aspects of an organization's network and telephone systems including software and hardware. Recommends, implements, and maintains network architectures (LAN and WAN). Follows operational policies and procedures and determines most efficient utilization of personnel and equipment based on defined IT Strategies. Provide support of CFG’s cloud based centralized server infrastructure, in country server infrastructure and networked personal computers. Maintains up to date data backups, security measures, and system uptime. Provide disaster and recovery support to CFG IT Operations. Provide third level technical support to 1200+ users applicable to shared commercial and office automation applications (Client/Server).

DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Conduct server maintenance and monitor operations. Define improvement, optimization, and capacity planning of the production server’s environment. Program and scheduled infrastructure backup and restore process.
  • Server operating systems include Azure, Office 365, Microsoft Active Directory and Group Policies, Microsoft Exchange Server, Microsoft SharePoint, Server 2012/2019. MS database environments, file sharing services, and other technologies as needed.
  • Analyze hardware performance. Collect, monitor, and analyze systems data logs. Recommend improvements to existing server’s infrastructure.
  • Operate in production based on established change control processes.
  • Provides technical leadership on a range of programs and projects including supervising contracted (outsourced) resources.
  • Security Administration of production servers. Manage user’s access control to shared printers, home folders and client /server applications. Process access control terminations timely upon HR notification. Conduct yearly user’s access control re-certifications. Enforce applicable corporate IT Policies and Procedures.
  • Escalates critical situations to IT vendors and Telecommunications Services Providers account management team.
  • Oversees the development and maintenance of IT network architecture, phone systems, definition of standards and protocols for data exchange, communications, software, and interconnections.
  • Maintain all records and documentation relating to the physical structure of the local area networks. Maintain up to date Tape media inventory records.
  • Works with the IT personnel on installation of computer hardware and software. Supports and maintains control of software license agreements of Servers and PC standard office applications. Makes recommendation on purchases to the Senior System Administrator.
  • Responsible for maintenance and installation of virus protection software within the CFG environment. Including the installation of software patches and upgrades.
  • Work in coordination with the IT management executing PC yearly maintenance and random audits with Service desk.
  • Ensure that agreed user service levels with respect to availability and response (on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week) are met and maintained by providing third level support to PC users for problems passed through Service Desk. Work closely with Service Desk support for issues resolution and escalation.

OTHER FUNCTIONS

  • Write or revise technical training manuals and procedures.
  • Train IT staff and/or users on software and hardware on-site.
  • Set up personal computer and server equipment.
  • Maintain CFG Centers Security access controls and monitor environmental conditions are kept up to standards.
  • Distribute hardware electrical load to ensure proper computing architecture operations.
  • Maintain application loads in balance to ensure system uptime and response time is kept under user expectations during 1st shift/prime time.
  • Assist IT Management in routine daily PC & Servers operations tasks.
  • Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree in any of the following academic fields: Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Information Systems. Must be proficient in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding both Spanish and English languages.  Apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagrammatic form. Deal with several abstract and concrete variables. CCNA Certification preferable.
