Island Finance Trinidad empowers students through hands-on financial learning

Island Finance Trinidad is proud to support the next generation by combining environmental care with practical financial education. Through our initiative, we helped students build confidence and responsibility by managing their own agricultural projects from start to finish.

Phase 1: From Seed to Skill

In collaboration with the SURE Foundation, we distributed more than 3,000 seedlings to 1,000 students across five primary schools. During this stage, students learned the technical skills needed to care for their plants and ensure a healthy harvest.

Phase 2: Harvest Day and Entrepreneurship

The project culminated in Harvest Day, where students successfully harvested their produce, including tomatoes, lettuce, peppers, eggplants and proudly sold them. This phase allowed students to experience the full cycle of production and gain first-hand experience in financial empowerment.

Participating Schools:

  • Iere Government Primary School
  • Macaulay Government Primary School
  • Gasparillo Government Primary School
  • Marabella Government Primary School
  • Audrey Jeffers School for the Deaf

This initiative shows how small seeds can grow into significant lessons in responsibility and independence. At Island Finance, we are committed to providing students with the tools they need for a successful future.
